Microsoft is rolling out KB4338819 for Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) to all compatible devices. The direct download links for Windows 10 KB4338819 are also available on Microsoft’s Update Catalog website.

The devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update are getting the patch and it’s distributed to systems via Windows Update. July 2018 patch brings both security fixes and performance improvements. Windows 10 KB4338819 advances system to Build 17134.165 and it comes with a small list of bug fixes.

The cumulative updates are important for users because installing the latest version of Windows 10 always brings a system fully up-to-date. The focus with this new batch of cumulative updates is entirely on fixing security issues but performance refinements are also included.

Microsoft says that the cumulative update improves the Universal CRT Ctype and it can correctly handle EOF as valid input. The update also addresses an issue that could have caused the Mitigation Options Group Policy client-side extension to fail unexpectedly.

Microsoft has fixed a limited number of issues with today’s patch and most of the changes are aimed at enterprises.

Microsoft is finally allowing the users to debug the WebView content in UWP apps. You would need to download Microsoft Edge DevTools Preview app from the Store and enable the debugging tool. The patch would also make sure that the application and device are compatible with all updates to Windows.

Microsoft is also rolling out security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows apps, Windows wireless networking, Windows virtualization, Windows kernel, Windows Server, Windows datacenter networking and Windows graphics.

It remains to be seen if the patch installs correctly for everyone, as these patches could be troublesome for a few users. We’ll keep an eye out for reports and post more stories should such bugs be discovered.

If you deploy the patch as soon as possible, your computer will be protected against the most recent known vulnerabilities.

Microsoft says that new operating system features are not being introduced in this update.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft has already completed the rollout of Windows 10 April 2018 Update for compatible devices. In a blog post published last month, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 April 2018 Update is broadly available for all devicesand the Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the one to thank to for this.

You can check for updates from Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update.
